RTK two-phase anaerobic reactor

RTK two-phase anaerobic reactor

Organic materials such as agricultural straw, kitchen waste, livestock manure, organic wastewater can be used for anaerobic fermentation to produce methane. At present, CSTR reactor is widely used in industry, and the process of producing acid and methane is carried out in the same reactor.

In order to better study the acid generation and methanogenic phase in anaerobic fermentation process of materials and better control various parameters, so as to improve the efficiency of methanogenic phase, we can use a two-phase reactor for experiments.

For materials with high TS solid content, such as agricultural straw, kitchen waste, etc., the leachate of the dry reactor can be used to spray back the acid, and then the wet reactor CSTR or UASB can be used to produce methane. The schematic and physical drawings are shown as follows:

Taking kitchen waste as an example, the acidizing tank is a cylindrical filter bed reactor (LBR), with a total volume of 10 L and an inner diameter of 20 cm. It is divided into three layers from top to bottom. The first layer is the leaching space at the top, with a volume of 3.5 L and a height of 11 cm.

The second layer is the food waste material filling part, with an effective volume of 3L and a height of 9.5cm. Under the filling layer, there are two layers of screens with different aperture sizes, and the food waste substrate is directly undertaken by the screen with a diameter of 3mm.

The bottom layer is supported by a screen with a diameter of 1 mm, and the middle is filled with glass beads with a diameter of 1 cm and a height of 5 cm.

The bottom layer is the acidizing fluid collection space, 9.5cm high. A 2 L leachate storage tank is connected to the upper part of the acidizing tank.

There are two discharge pipes at the bottom of the acidizing tank, one is to return part of the acidizing fluid to the leachate storage tank, and the other is to feed the remaining part of the acidizing fluid to the methane-producing reactor for gas production.

The two-phase anaerobic reactor has the following characteristics:

(1) The materials such as agricultural straw, food and kitchen waste into the acidizing tank, after inoculation of microorganisms, dry fermentation, the resulting leachate stored in the acidizing liquid storage tank, the leachate pumped into the leachate storage tank, through the spray reflux into the acidizing tank, to achieve mass transfer;

(2) The leachate can also be pumped into a methane-producing tank, where various organic acid Vfas in the leachate can be used for methane-producing, and the tank is equipped with temperature and pH probes, as well as a RTKins™ gas flow meter for monitoring methane production;

(3) Acid and lye can be connected, and the pH value of leachate can be automatically adjusted with the pump, and automatic sampling can be performed for analysis.
